About the Role:

Remitly is looking for a Business Operations Manager to join the European Operations team. Based in Ireland, the role will report to the European Chief Operating Officer and help drive business performance. You will collaborate with colleagues in Legal, Compliance, Business Management, Product, and other teams across Remitly's global offices. As the Business Operations Manager, you will have a defined set of day-to-day responsibilities as well as be expected to handle ambiguity and be adaptable in line with business priorities.

Some of the types of work you may be expected to lead:

  • Driving product and process changes to meet new regulatory obligations
  • Documenting how we do things to identify improvements and automation opportunities
  • Building a global playbook on how we manage outsourcing and vendor relationships

You Will:

  • Govern outsourcing performance for a given domain
  • Work cross functionally with a diverse range of stakeholders ensuring seamless, end-to-end delivery of outsourced services. Monitor and evaluate the performance of all outsourced service providers against the agreed-upon SLAs. Apply appropriate risk management process and internal controls to identify, measure, manage, monitor and report any risks associated with the agreed outsourcing arrangements.
  • Collect and analyse data related to outsourced activities across all areas, prepare comprehensive reports and dashboards for management, stakeholders and various committees and Board meetings.
  • Lead and execute business critical projects
  • Creatively solve problems
  • Plan for dependencies, anticipate risks, and mitigate blockers to ensure on-time delivery of assigned initiatives
  • Develop frameworks and processes that enable repetition and scalability
  • Articulate what great looks like and can analyse what is required to get there

You Have:

  • Proficiency in gathering and documenting business requirements.
  • A passion to do the right thing for the customer.
  • Business/commercial acumen; be able to prioritise differing demands based on highest impact
  • A love for working with data; Be able to build queries and dashboards
  • A solid track record of taking ownership and leading projects
  • 4+ years of work experience in a fast-paced environment having quickly assumed responsibilities
  • A strong desire to solve problems
  • Curiosity about how things work
  • Superior written and verbal communication
  • Strong attention to detail; The ability to go into as much detail as is required to understand a process/product/service
  • A demonstrated interest in fintech
  • Great relationship building skills
  • Experience working in multicultural environments; you adjust your communication based on team member role type and background
  • Self starter, highly driven, enthusiastic with a can do attitude, approachable and excellent team player.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address challenges and obstacles effectively.

Nice to have:

  • Understanding of the EBA/CBI/FCA outsourcing guidelines and how they apply to a regulated entity.
  • Experience in managing outsourced services within a regulated environment and enhancing performance metrics will be considered an advantage
