We are seeking a Warehouse Clerk / Back Up Driver to join our team in Clinton Township, MI. Warehouse shift: Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm Driver shift would vary based on run being covered, etc

Warehousing responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Accurate picking, packing and shipment of various sized parts to support quick turnaround of parts ordered.
  • Fill orders by removing the correct parts from the shelf, identifying part numbers and proper quantity.
  • Determine method of shipment and packs accordingly.
  • Count, weigh, measure or examine packaging and contents of items for conformance to company specifications.
  • Receive and unpack merchandise and supplies and verifies accuracy of deliveries.
  • Perform general labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting and moving materials.
  • Confirm proper location of merchandise.
  • Ensure production area organization and cleanliness.
  • Stock shelves by placing material in appropriate locations.
  • Operate forklift or use hand truck to move, convey or hoist equipment and parts throughout the warehouse and work areas.
  • Comply with all quality standards and policies.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area - this includes cleaning / maintaining equipment and work areas, and performing safety inspections of areas.

Back Up Driver responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  

  • Must be comfortable driving a truck, and be able to navigate successfully in minimal access areas
  • Responsible for learning multiple delivery routes with varying start times, so flexibility is required to cover unexpected changes.
  • Ability to load, secure and unload product safely, and maintain a route schedule
  • Receive and provide appropriate documentation for the delivery of goods to ensure timely service
  • Professional appearance, with excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Accurate handling of CODs, delivery manifests
  • Vehicle inspection, both pre- and post-delivery, compliance with all federal and state regulations
  • Excellent attendance and reliability are critical
  • With minimal supervision, demonstrated ability to solve practical problems
  • Hazmat training a plus
  • Medical examiner's certificate and the ability to have and maintain a satisfactory driving record within company policy limits
  • Must be able to become certified through OSHA in the following areas: Basic Hazmat, Driver Specific Hazmat, and Security Awareness
  • CDL preferred but not required
  • Must be able to lift up to 75lbs

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

* Knowledge typically obtained with a high school or equivalent diploma.

* Must have dependable attendance and be a team player.

* Prior forklift certification or willing to become forklift certified.

* Basic computer skills helpful.

* Prior warehouse experience a plus!

WORKING CONDITIONS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, balance and use arms and hands to reach, pull, push, clasp and move a variety of materials. Walkways are concrete and/or metal grating. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 lbs frequently. Employee may be exposed to high, precarious places. The warehouse environment can be hot (or cold) and dusty.
