Job Description:

PURPOSE AND SCOPE  

 

This position is responsible for creating production schedules, expedient entry of materials and of transactions and plan parts necessary to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction. 
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 

 

  • Regulate total inventory of product components to support product availability while minimizing inventory dollars. 

  • Monitor the automatic scheduling system to ensure proper allocation of product, manually schedule the orders that cannot be computer allocated and maintain existing orders with regard to requirement and promise date changes.  

  • Process daily paperwork such as purchase orders; pick slips, and supplier follow-up reports. Post receipts and shipments as required 

  • Communicate with customer’s status of their orders via phone or e-mail.  

  • Communicate to suppliers their performance based on quality, warranty and delivery. 

  • Communicate with the production department to ensure a smooth flow of inventory to support the build schedules. 

  • Maintain good supplier relationships. 

  • Assist in the resolution of quality problems by conferring with Engineering and suppliers. 

  • May negotiate, identify, document and accomplish cost savings programs as required. 

  • Maintain minimal inventory levels of product components while ensuring appropriate levels to support Manufacturing’s shipping schedules. Accomplish this using proper forecasting and scheduling techniques. 

  • Communicate to the production department to ensure a smooth flow of inventory to support the build schedules. 

  • Maintain accurate information through JDE using the latest information provided by the suppliers based on direct communications. 
     
     

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE  
 

  • Two year certificate from college or technical school; and at least three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  

  • Must be proficient in the use of the MRPII and Purchasing department systems.  

  • JD Edwards 9.2 experience strongly preferred. Must possess excellent organization skills.  

  • Strong background in Microsoft Excel and Word required 

  • APICs certification strongly preferred.
