The opportunity in the Research Support Office offers a dynamic role where you will work alongside the research system lead. This position is pivotal in ensuring the smooth daily operations of our research systems, providing vital user support and enhancing functionality. You’ll collaborate closely with the IT department to optimize system performance and efficiently address user inquiries, playing a key role in advancing NTU’s research excellence.

Job description:

  • User Support and Management: Act as the primary contact for users regarding research system functionalities and issues. Monitor the service portal for reported queries, troubleshoot functional problems, and provide guidance. Coordinate with the IT department and vendors for technical resolutions and support interim solutions pending permanent fixes deployment.

  • Training and Documentation: Keep user guides, system documentations, resource page and training materials updated to reflect system changes. Assist with training and coordination of system related events.

  • System Support, Maintenance and Management: Coordinating and participating in research system meetings and testing activities, preparing meeting summaries, and following up on action items with relevant departments. Identifying gaps in research processes and collaborating within and across departments to address them is essential. Ensure that updated documents are easily accessible for the NTU community. Additionally, conduct or overseeing scheduled system functionality checks and day to day maintenance activities. Support system and process related audits activities.

  • Grant management and research related activities: Engage in end-to-end grant management processes to develop a comprehensive understanding of the workflows involved. This familiarity will enhance the ability to provide effective functional support for the research systems. Additionally, participation in office-related research activities will be required, ensuring a cohesive approach to supporting the NTU community in their research endeavors.

Requirements:

  • A good Bachelor degree from a recognised university. Entry level applicants with an interest/passion in system support ad management are welcome to apply.

  • Able to quickly learn and comfortable with the use of specialized IT systems for daily tasks.

  • Proficient in MS Office Applications.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Can work independently and collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.

  • Meticulous and attentive to details.

  • Resilient, resourceful with good problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, and thrives in a fast-paced, results-oriented and ambiguous work environment.

  • Working experience in end-user environment, research/ project management or implementing/managing/supporting IT applications will be advantageous.

Remuneration and appointment terms shall commensurate with qualifications and experience. NTU reserves the right to modify the appointment terms where necessary.
