Join our Wealth and Investments team, where you will work on tools utilized by our investment advisors in the field. You will be part of a dedicated team of designers, product managers, and engineers, focusing on modernizing and enhancing tools to facilitate end-to-end client servicing. Your role will be centered on understanding the user and advocating for the user's perspective throughout the design process.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Analyze tough problems and think though design challenges in a systematic way.
  • Work under the guidance of a more senior UX designer, while still having ownership over own work.
  • Follow an iterative design process to wireframe, prototype, and validate design ideas.
  • Produce work that follows UX best practices, internal guidelines, and also brings fresh ideas to the table.
  • Collaborate with other designers, product owners, and technologists, and contribute to the larger design team through research, presentations, and internal projects.


Qualifications

  • Experience completing most UX deliverables.
  • 2+ years of experience working in a design practice.
  • A self-starter who is user-focused, detailed, and solutions-oriented.
  • Basic knowledge of the fundamentals of user-centered design, visual design, brand development, and how products are put together.
  • An extreme passion for understanding the user, and a strong communicator of the user's perspective throughout the design process.
  • An understanding that UX is more than just UI, but includes all user-centered design activities from research, concepting, flows, sitemaps wireframes, prototypes, annotations, and more.
  • Experience with Figma, Mural and other white boarding tools.
  • A strong online portfolio available for viewing.

Compensation Range:

Pay Range - Start:

$75,180.00

Pay Range - End:

$139,620.00

Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
