Job Description:

Pediatric Hospitalist

Support the organization’s mission, vision and values by adhering to the behavioral standards of Bay Area Hospital. Effective communication skills and the ability to work effectively with people from various backgrounds are critical.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Remains current with CME activity. Must meet organizational CME requirements, board certification, and compliance with all Bay Area rules and continuing privileges without restriction
  • Keeps all licenses and appropriate certifications current and unrestricted
  • Communicates effectively with colleagues, patients and administration
  • Maintains quality of clinical practice by selecting appropriate avenues for professional growth

  • Meets criteria for medical Staff or Allied Health Professional membership and privileges

Physical/Mental/Environmental Requirements

  • Able to stand, walk, bend, reach and stretch frequently
  • Possess physical agility and adequate reaction time to respond to quickly and appropriately to unexpected patient care needs
  • Needs adequate hearing and visual acuity, including adequate color vision
  • Requires fine motor skills, adequate eye-hand coordination and ability to grasp and handle objects
  • Able to use proper body mechanics to assist patients in ambulating, transferring in and out of bed, chair or wheelchair
  • May require ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Must use standard precautions due to threat of exposure to blood and bodily fluids
  • Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on the telephone
  • May require periodic use of personal computer
