The Team:

The team cover the analysis of ABS and RMBS transactions in EMEA, developing relationships with market players, contributing to research and publications, and representing S&P Global Ratings at market events. Reporting to the Structured Finance Analytical Manager, the role involves close collaboration with highly experienced industry experts, with an important focus on market dynamics.

The Impact:

The successful applicant will enhance our ability to serve clients efficiently and effectively, demonstrating outstanding analytical excellence and the capacity to provide relevant, insightful, and compelling analysis. Responsibilities include aiding in the analysis for the EMEA ABS & RMBS team. There will be direct analytical responsibility for a portfolio of credits, conducting credit and financial analysis, reviewing, researching, and managing data and transaction documents, running credit models, analysing cash flows, and preparing analytical documentation. Knowledge of applicable criteria is essential, along with providing analytical reasoning in team discussions and presenting analyses in committees. Effective communication is crucial, both within the Structured Finance Analytical team and as an ambassador for S&P Global Ratings with market participants, including issuers and key clients, as well as at conferences where participation as a speaker may be required. A deep understanding of industry trends and issues is expected, along with strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to resolving issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently prepare and present analysis and recommendations to credit committees.
  • Conduct analyses on complex Structured Finance transactions: reviewing data and documentation, running related credit and cash-flow models, identifying, and measuring appropriate risk factors, and presenting outcomes in front of a rating committee.
  • Work closely with senior analysts to provide research and analysis for the Structured Finance team.
  • Participate in analytical educational meetings with clients to provide insights on our analytical approach.
  • Model S&P leadership behaviours, coach, and mentor junior staff.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related subject.
  • Relevant industry experience in Structured Finance, ABS, RMBS, or credit analysis, or related analytical fields. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A S&P employee at this level would typically have 6 or more years of analytical work experience in the financial services industry. We are happy to consider candidates of lesser experience for a Senior Analyst level.
  • Experience in managing and interpreting data for analytical purposes.
  • Solid analytical capability, team player, and good time-management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet project deadlines under tight timeframes.
  • Self-starter with a proactive attitude and effective team player.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-changing, global, and regulated environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong Excel knowledge is a must. Good/advanced knowledge of Python and/or R is a distinctive advantage.
  • Fluent in English and German; proficiency in any other EMEA language is an advantage.
