The Program Support Assistant performs a variety of administrative/clerical support functions for the Emergency Services Department.

Additionally acting as the Onboarding Facilitator, the Program Support Assistant will assist the Emergency Department with the onboarding of new hires. They will interact closely with the new hires. The duties include, but are not limited to: filing, creating orientation binders, sending out welcome letters, obtaining security clearance for programs, setting orientation schedules as well as working closely with other departments in facilitating onboarding.

This job demonstrates compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including JCAHO standards, STAR service and VCU Health policies and procedures.

This is a full-time, weekday position.

Experience REQUIRED:
Minimum of two (2) years of previous secretarial/administrative work experience in an office setting.
Previous experience with Microsoft Office applications & e-mail/calendaring.

Experience PREFERRED:
Three (3) years of previous secretarial/administrative work experience in an office setting.
Previous experience in a health care setting.

Education/training REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or equivalent

Education/training PREFERRED:
Post High School coursework in Business, Accounting or closely related field.

Independent action(s) required:
Performs administrative/clerical duties independently and without direct supervision.
