We are currently hiring for an Assistant, Qualified Independent Contractor to join BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina. In this role as Assistant, Qualified Independent Contractor, you will provide all redetermination case file information within the specified time requirement while maintaining accuracy and departmental standards. You will also suspend claims in applicable claim system and track all data.

Logistics

This position is full time (40 hours/week) Monday-Friday 6:00-5:30 (8 HR Shift) at the Columbia SC OR Florence SC office.

What You Will Do:

  • Performs the administrative function of validating and processing reconsideration requests received to complete within designated timeliness and quality standards. Identifies, retrieves and prepares documentation for batching, builds case files in established format, annotates claims in appropriate claim and internal system for proper tracking and reporting. Copies, faxes, and logs data.
  • Maintains databases and updates the system for tracking purposes to ensure timeliness and quality standards are met.

To Qualify for This Position, You Will Need:

  • High School Diploma OR equivalent.
  • Required Work Experience: 1 year administrative support, clerical, or claims experience.
  • Good organizational.
  • Decision making.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Analytical or critical thinking skills.
  • Microsoft Office.

  • 2 years-clerical, research, or related office experience.
  • Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion.
  • Medicare Part B experience.
