This role sits within ABB's Robotics business, a leading global robotics company. We're entering an exciting new chapter as we’ve announced the plan for SoftBank Group to acquire ABB Robotics. This Position reports to:
Business Manager - Commercial and Operations
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Identifies potential gaps in the portfolio, with respect to the competition and new market opportunity(ies).
Leads the lifecycle management process, analyzes current offering, defines and tracks performance metrics, plans appropriate measures (e.g., enhancements, cost reductions, and phase-outs), and makes decisions on offering obsolescence and end-of life to ensure that current and future market requirements are met and to maximize the profitability.
Sets targets and monitors offering costs and gives inputs to cross functions (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Production, R&D) to maximize competitiveness and profitability.
Defines new offering plans, sets technical, price, cost, and capital expenditure targets.
Contributes to development of new portfolios by leading customer need and value analysis, planning the roadmap to create maximum value, and following-up on offering portfolio performance.
Initiates and drives product market communication strategy, including product launch planning and implementation.
Defines product customer value proposition per segment and channel and ensures clear communication to channels and users, to deliver clear offering positioning within the portfolio with defined values per offering line.
Tracks and analyzes offering performance and trends in terms of volume and profitability.
Lead and own business case.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automation or related.
10+yrs experience in product management or sales/commercial experience.
Proven, in-depth knowledge of robotics product and automation industry.
Good communication and influencing skills.
Strong commercial sense and analytical skills, with experience using data to drive decisions.
Result driven.
