Annual Giving Coordinator

Position: Western Colorado University invites applications for the full-time position of Annual Giving Coordinator.  The position reports to Assistant Vice President, Development, works closely with the Development Team (Vice President for Advancement and Executive Director, WCU Foundation, Director of Donor Relations and Outreach, Director of Advancement Services, and Director of Finance), and is responsible for planning and executing all aspects of Mountaineer Gives Day, an exciting new campaign to support WCU initiatives.  

Responsibilities:  The Annual Giving Associate is responsible for driving Western Colorado University’s annual fundraising efforts, including managing Fall Appeals, Mountaineer Gives Day, and supporting campus partners with one-off appeals. This role involves achieving ambitious annual giving goals by utilizing Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge to track progress, analyze campaign success, and ensure donor retention and acquisition. As an expert in the Foundation’s CRM database, you’ll work closely with the Advancement Services Director to deliver up-to-date data and support to campus partners.

In this dynamic role, you will manage a portfolio of donors, plan and execute fundraising campaigns, and collaborate with campus partners on Mountaineer Gives Day. Your work with the Development, Alumni Relations, Marketing teams and Western students, faculty and staff will ensure a cohesive and effective approach to donor engagement and fundraising. You'll also coordinate a comprehensive calendar of fundraising activities and actively engage with donors to foster ongoing support for the University

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree. Prior fundraising experience. Ability to travel for at least one week per quarter to visit WCU donors. Will work occasional nights and weekends. Must have the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially. Must be proficient with technology including CRM databases (Raiser’s Edge), Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications: Higher education fund raising experience. Graduate Degree. A degree from Western Colorado University. Business, sales, communications, advertising, or marketing experience. Fundraising certificates including Certified Fund Raising Executive. Experience working with Blackbaud products including Raiser’s Edge.

Compensation: $55,000 to $60,000. FLSA exempt. Western offers an excellent benefits package including shared premiums for a comprehensive health insurance plan, dental insurance, retirement plan, life insurance, and other insurance options. After one year of employment, Western provides free tuition for dependents enrolled full time in undergraduate programs for up to four years.
