Data Science Intern, Global Data & Analytics

Full-time/ Summer 2026 (temporary contract of about 12 weeks, May through August). Work 5 days/week in office

THE ROLE As a member of the Enterprise Data & Analytics Team, the Data Science Intern is an everyday partner with multiple departments, including Global Marketing, Category Management, Shared Services & Finance, Global Technology, and Business Unit Leadership.  This is a unique opportunity to work on a new, growing team within a large organization. 

The Data Science Intern is responsible for delivering advanced analytics projects that drive business results.  The ideal candidate should possess the ability to contribute to all aspects of project work, including interpreting business questions and desired outcomes, selecting the appropriate methodology, data cleaning, exploratory data analysis, model building, and creation of polished deliverables that are suitable for internal and external presentation. 

We are looking for an individual who is a proven problem solver with exceptional critical thinking ability.  The candidate should have a high sense of curiosity and be comfortable with ambiguity when faced with a difficult challenge.  Additionally, the candidate should possess the abilities to collaborate with others and simply and effectively communicate complex concepts with a non-technical audience.  

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

Excited to embark on a journey with us? Here's a breakdown of your job duties in this role: 

  • Understand and maintain Python/R, SQL and Databricks workflows established to collect, clean, and analyze data, ensuring data integrity and reproducibility in the workflow. 
  • Apply standard statistical, Machine Learning (ML) via Python, R or SQL programming to solve defined tasks. 
  • Implement supervised/unsupervised models using well-documented libraries (scikit-learn, XGBoost). 
  • Apply basic model evaluation metrics (accuracy, F1, RMSE). 
  • Write clear, concise project updates for a technical audience, and communicate results to the team. 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED  

We want you to join our team! Here's what we're looking for: 

Knowledge and skills: 

  • Ability to program with SQL, R and Python.  Familiarity with well documented analytics libraries such as scikit-learn, XGBoost. 
  • Exposure with software development practices, object-oriented principles and test automation; 
  • Exposure to version control systems such as Git – experience preferred 
  • Exposure to cloud-based analytics environments (Azure, AWS or GCP); 
  • Experience applying operational research, statistical and machine learning techniques such as regression, time series forecasting, clustering, optimization, etc.; 
  • Strong problem-solving skills including problem spotting and problem scoping; 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate the business benefits of analytics; 

Qualifications :  

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Data Science, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, or a related quantitative field 
  • Previous internship or relevant project experience is preferred but not required
