The Commissary Supervisor position is responsible for managing all the employees working in the commissary department and ensuring that our product is meeting product specification through our process. This person will monitor, manage, and learn department systems and processes such as but not limited to, timekeeping, FlexiBake, WordPress, SAP. This position reports to the Production manager.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Directs – 40%
- Directs employees in his or her area with respect and courtesy.
- Understand and complies with all general and specific safe job procedures & policies that apply to your job and your staff.
- Reports harassment or other behaviors that may cause a hostile work environment.
- Executes the Production Supervisor’s work instructions.
- Notifies all affected personnel, Production manager, and Maintenance of equipment problems and breakdowns.
- Calls for support as needed to avoid waste in labor, ingredients, and materials.
- Organize, and relieves employee breaks and lunches.
- Communicates with chef’s, supervisors and lead persons to coordinate activities between departments.
- Performs the activities of workers supervised.
- Directs and organize employees when the equipment breaks down while troubleshooting a solution
Safety Compliance – 20%
- Complies with and enforces King’s safety policies and positively promotes safety in all areas.
- Directs employees to work safely and takes corrective action immediately if an employee is being unsafe.
- Reports unsafe behaviors of employees to the Production manager immediately.
- Plan and carry out job assignments without creating hazards to yourself and other employees.
- Reports all accidents to the manager and obtain first aid for all injuries no matter how minor.
- Provide control at the scene of the accident.
- Assist Supervisors/ leads during an emergency or natural disaster to maintain order and security of plant personnel.
- Accounts for all of his or her department personnel during an evacuation
- Participates or oversees the 5 minute warm ups and daily safety topics
- Contributes safety suggestions to the supervisor
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Training – 10%
- Promotes our company values of “Dignity, Excellence, and Telling it like it is in a way that can be heard” through your actions and by educating the staff about our values.
- Trains new employees or employees who change job classifications.
- Trains all employees on proper procedure of all tasks.
- Trains employees on new equipment and develops SOP’s
- Trains employees on any new systems
Inventory Management – 5%
- Protects the company from material losses.
- Monitors and counts inventory levels of materials needed for production.
- Notifies the supervisor immediately when materials are substandard
Product Quality – 10%
- Inspects the products to verify conformance to quality specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
- Maintains QA and production records.
- Notifies Supervisor immediately if product is out of conformance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma, or GED equivalent.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Key Leadership Competencies in addition to Ethics / Values and Integrity / Trust, (Action Oriented, Directing Others, Priority Setting, Decision Quality, Organizing, Process Management).Bilingual English and Spanish
- Must read and write in English needed for safety and reporting.
- Ability to add, subtract, and divide using whole numbers and decimals.
- Understanding of units of weight in grams, ounces, and pounds including decimals.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, and taste or smell food ingredients. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds with assistance by co-worker and/or mechanical devices. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.

Compensation: $25.24- $37.25 DOE
