Overview:

As a recognized technical expert, lead a development team in design, development, deployment and support of solutions in response to business needs.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, deploy, coordinate and troubleshoot custom software solutions and integration points between Empower systems in response to business needs.
• Provides expert opinion and other inputs in aid of decision-making surrounding optimal methodologies and solutions.
• Based on decisions made, design, deploy, own and operate development methodologies and solutions in support of business needs
• Participate in on-call rotation.
• Respond-to and resolve complex and/or escalated issues.
• Provide deep, advanced technical support and guidance directly to end users.
• Assist management with the oversight of the team being led.
• Leads development of projects of moderate scope.
• Trains, mentors, coordinates and directs the work of less experienced staff.
• Develop and maintain web applications developed using Java/J2EE,React, Angular/ReactJS Spring/Struts/JSP, Web services (RESTful) using JSON and XML formats and produce reusable superior technical components.
• Strong hands-on, documentation and utilization of best coding practices.
• Preference for working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while juggling multiple projects
• Anticipate problems or issues that may arise, forecast high risk areas in software and drive resolution
• Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience/Skills:

• Bachelor of Computer Science or similar technical degree or equivalent experience
• 7 + years of expertise in Java, SQL, Open Source Frameworks Doveops (Docker, Kubernetes), and AWS Cloud..
• Reasonably large, project based architectural responsibilities experience.
• Technical and/or Agile certifications.
• Significant Software Architecture Skills and Experience.
• Test driven development using testing frameworks (Junit, SoapUI).
• Highly collaborative technical leader.
• Capable innovator.
• Seen as a trusted technical leader, leadership must be able to rely- upon Lead role providing oversight and guidance to team.

OTHER PREFERRED (Good to have) QUALIFICATIONS:

• Continuous integration and build process and deployment experience and SONAR for code quality analysis are desired.
• Experience with Git, Maven, Jira and/or Hudson/Jenkins are a plus.
• Experience with a relational databases and PL/SQL
