Johnson Controls, Global Marine & Navy is a division of Johnson Controls with more than 300 employees worldwide. We develop, manufacture, market, and service complete HVAC & R systems for Marine, Cruise, Offshore and Navy applications, and we are among the world’s leading suppliers in this field.

We are currently looking for a Strategic buyer for the Global Marine & Navy organization in our Sweden office in Norrkoping -The main areas will be to actively be responsible for Procurement both operationally and strategically and execute in close corporation with the GM&N team members in Sweden and other stakeholders.

You will be part of setting sourcing activities, demands and goals for the business and execute across the BU.

You will have a broad role in the organization, where you will be participating in improvement projects, identifying opportunities, and implementing these.

What you will do

  • Ensure supplier relationship management and implementation of SCM programs set by Global/EMEA Procurement and GM&N Procurement
  • Implement and align agreed strategies to the business
  • Identify and lead / participate in continuous improvement projects
  • Identify new suppliers, make benchmarks for defined commodities, cost control and implementation
  • Implement JCI Supplier agreements (Global, EMEA and local agreements) – into the organization
  • Implement and coordinate general Procurement processes / procedures across the GM&N organization
  • Support the local organization in Supply Chain Management aspects and new business developments related to Sourcing/Procurement
  • Financial results (measure, execute and work with defined KPI’s), prognosis on monthly basis.
  • Secure Due Diligence of suppliers and act according to set of rules for e.g., Compliance, Ethics, Integrity, and other behavior’s set by JCI corporate
  • Monthly reporting to align Sourcing tasks / initiatives related to projects, commodity strategies etc.
  • Support purchasing and take operational responsibility when high load on purchasing.

How you will do it

  • Support commodity / category cost reduction, lead time reduction and supplier consolidation projects
  • Obtain quotations and negotiates with suppliers on price, quality, and service
  • Advise improvements on materials and services, price changes, marketing changes and source changes
  • Establish and maintain a harmonious relationship with vendors or potential vendors to enhance the performance and reputation of the company
  • Investigate, develop, and obtain quotations from suppliers
  • Plan and prioritize activities, suggest, and implement process improvements to increase our customer service level
  • Perform special projects for GM&N as assigned

What we look for

  • Master’s degree in business, Procurement, or related area, or equivalent through experience, with a strong technical and commercial experience. MBA a bonus. 
  • At least three years of active experience in an equivalent professional purchasing position (with experience in the categories mechanical and automation equipment)
  • Excellent knowledge of purchasing practices and applicable laws and regulations
  • Analytical, result-driven, and accurate
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills and make strong supplier relationships
  • You can demonstrate a high level of integrity
  • Strong Team Player, encouraging a challenging and collaborative environment
  • Demonstrable track record in improving bottom line results
  • Experience in an International business environment required
  • Strong English language – written and spoken
