About This Role

As the Director of Market Access Strategy, you will play a role in shaping and influencing the US market access strategy for Biogen’s Alzheimer's portfolio. Your primary focus will be on Alzheimer’s treatments, including both IV and subcutaneous maintenance and initiation, in collaboration with our alliance partner. This position serves as the central conduit across Biogen's Market Access & Reimbursement (MA&R) team and the Alzheimer’s commercial team, as well as alliance market access stakeholders. Your efforts will ensure aligned strategy, smooth execution, and measurable outcomes.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee/shape access strategy development for Alzheimer (IV & Sub‑Q): Guide and influence US payer, provider, and site‑of‑care strategies across Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial channels; translate policy, coding, coverage, and payment dynamics into clear launch and pull‑through plans for the IV product and sub-q maintenance/initiation launches.

  • Relationship management with alliance: Establish durable, trust‑based relationships with alliance market access leaders; influence strategy development (particularly for Alzheimer sub-q launch), payer and reimbursement metrics tracking; ensure shared objectives are aligned to alliance governance.

  • KPI & metrics ownership: Shape the market access KPI scorecard (e.g., payer coverage/criteria, diagnostic coverage, time‑to‑therapy, claims adjudication/denials, affordability program utilization, ARM field execution), stand up dashboards, and drive monthly/quarterly business reviews between Biogen and alliance market access leadership

  • Senior leadership engagement: Engage with Biogen senior leadership during business reviews and support preparation for investor relations (IR) materials and discussions to ensure market access strategy and performance are clearly communicated.

  • Leadership with ARM teams: Partner closely with alliance stakeholders to ensure Alzheimer Access & Reimbursement Managers (ARM) translate strategy into field execution and help improve overall performance.

  • Reimbursement initiatives: Help shape cross‑functional reimbursement strategies and solutions (coding/billing education, claim pathways, provider economics, infusion center readiness, benefit verification & PA process optimization) in collaboration with Patient Services/HUB, Trade & Distribution, Field Reimbursement, and Contracting

  • Evidence & value strategy alignment: Coordinate with HEOR and Medical teams on value messages and payer evidence needs

  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across several U.S. teams including payer marketing, pricing, trade & distribution, field access, medical, legal, finance, training and commercial brand marketing teams.

Who You Are

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in market access strategy, including payer marketing, pricing, trade & distribution, and buy-and-bill models, with a proven ability to drive results through collaboration and broad commercial strategic thinking. This role requires a hands-on leader who can operate both strategically and tactically to deliver impact across the full market access spectrum.

Required Skills
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years' experience in US Market Access with launch leadership for specialty biologics; Alzheimer’s/neuroscience experience strongly preferred.
• Experience partnering in co-promotions/alliances and influencing across Commercial, HEOR, Pricing & Contracting, Government Pricing, Policy, Medical, Finance, and Field teams.
• Strong command of Medicare Parts B/D dynamics, coverage/coding/payment pathways, and digital PA/claims processes.
• Experience with Access & Reimbursement Manager (ARM) teams and field execution metrics.
• Proven ability to design KPI/metrics frameworks, build dashboards, and conduct data-driven business reviews.
• Executive presence and ability to translate technical details into actionable insights for senior leadership and field teams.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high degree of ownership and accountability.
