The Demand Planner is responsible for defining the monthly demand forecast for one or more product groups on a 1–15 month time horizon. To establish this forecast the Demand Planner must use a combination of statistical analysis of sales history, along with enrichment from sales. The enrichment from sales could include information such as new item introductions or customer losses. The Demand Plan/Forecast which is created is crucial input for the IBP process as it becomes the basis for assessing the ability to supply. Therefore, the Demand Planner plays a crucial role as a conduit between Sales and market prospects and Operations.
Along with the monthly forecasting process, the Demand Planner is responsible for the in-depth analysis of forecast accuracy performance to identify how to improve forecast accuracy. Exploring different forecasting methods/techniques, how to use the Demand Planning software more effectively and other aspects that will improve the accuracy of the forecast.

Job Description:

Demand planning is a key role in the IBP process, as the forecast it delivers will enable operations to meet the production targets timely, efficiently and cost effective. The Demand Planner combines a variety of information from sales, supply chain / procurement, and operations (timely, as accurate as possible, and useable in qualitative and quantitative terms) to properly forecast the products that need to be produced. The Demand Planner delivers an important piece of information for the IBP cycle, ensuring that demand is properly planned.

The Demand Planner role has typically a planning horizon of 1 to 15 months on monthly buckets and 3 months on weekly buckets The level of the role depends on the scope and complexity, based on the number of customers and the size & complexity of the product portfolio.

  • Supply & Demand Strategy Development:
  • Contribute to the overall Supply Chain and Opco/BU IBP strategy.
  • Develop and execute the department's Supply & Demand strategy for supply excellence.
  • Proactively participate in long-term strategic planning.
  • Analyze market trends to define new business strategies.
  • Lead the demand segmentation process.
  • Integrated Business Supply & Demand Planning:
  • Collaborate with Plant/Operations and third-party suppliers to execute the IBP process.
  • Facilitate the Financial Forecasting Process and prepare decision documents.
  • Optimize demand and supply balance, creating scenarios for decision-making.
  • Demand Planning:
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance forecast accuracy and reduce bias.
  • Lead Demand Planning cycles with Sales, Marketing, and Customers.
  • Supervise and align demand plans with the IBP Demand and Supply Network Plan.
  • Conduct and communicate outcomes of Account Review and Demand Review meetings.
  • Supply Planning:

  • Optimize planning by balancing demand, inventory, and production capacity.
  • Regularly review and maintain planning parameters in the ERP system.
  • Make day-to-day planning decisions, escalating issues when needed.
  • Provide realistic production plans within guidelines.
  • Continuous Improvement & Projects:

  • Identify and implement best practices in Planning and IBP.
  • Enhance efficiency and effectiveness in Supply & Demand Planning, IBP, and Supply Chain activities.
  • Manage improvement projects and ensure compliance with HSE and quality standards.

  • Participates in various projects with the aim of improving the forecast reliability and/or the forecasting process

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • University degree in supply chain, operations, economics, technical engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years experience in a relevant position, preferably in the animal feed, FMCG, or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Proficiency in ERP tools and MS Office, MS Excel, PowerBI, Power Automate; knowledge of Infor M3 is desirable.
  • Fluency in Turkish & English,
  • Strong numerical capability and analytical mindset.
  • Sound business judgment and strong quantitative analytical skills.
  • Able to reside and work in the Gulluk / Milas / Bodrum area,
  • Completed military service for male candidates,
