Introduction to team :
The Release Resiliency team delivers test and deployment technologies to Expedia Group and its portfolio of brands. You’ll join our team of engineers and developers from around the world as we solve some of the largest e-commerce customer experience challenges in the Fortune 500 arena. Your pursuit to deliver scalable and reliable solutions will be meaningful in our mission to deliver quality and insights to teams across the business.
In this role, you will:
Design and implement high-performance, scalable, and reliable server applications.
Translate functional specs into component-based technical designs.
Prototype minimum viable products and contribute to the technical vision.
Improve platform stability by identifying and addressing process gaps.
Write clean, maintainable, modular code following design principles and best practices.
Mentor junior engineers and elevate engineering practices and development standards.
Collaborate to implement solutions that integrate people, processes, and technology.
Experience and qualifications:
Bachelor's or master's degree in a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.
Have a minimum of 5 years of development experience.
Prior experience as a Software Engineer mentoring junior engineers and applying new engineering principles to improve existing systems, including leading complex, well-defined projects.
A self-starter with an appetite to solve problems through development and engineering of resilient and capable systems.
Strong interpersonal, problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong experience with Kotlin, Go, or Java programming languages with multiple technology implementations. Go and Kotlin preferred.
Experience with containerised applications and container orchestration frameworks like Kubernetes, Helm, and Operator Pattern.
Understands the SDLC and Agile development methodology.
Understands the observability fundamentals like metrics, logging, and tracing.
Understands CI/CD framework to automate builds, test, and deploy.
Comfortable with developer tools like GitHub, CICD tools, etc.
Experience with service mesh like Istio, Linkerd would be plus.
Experience working with Spinnaker and CICD pipelines is a plus
