Events Manager
The MC Hotel, Autograph Collection

Salary: $65,000 to $75,000. Depending on experience.

The Events Manager is responsible for the successful coordination and execution of events for both in-house groups and external clients. This role focuses on driving Banquet Food & Beverage revenue through the planning, selling, and servicing of meetings and social functions. Key responsibilities include menu customization, agenda development, contract review, and serving as the primary liaison between clients and hotel departments to ensure flawless execution and guest satisfaction.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Proactively solicit, secure, and service group meetings, social events, and catering-only functions to optimize banquet space usage and exceed revenue targets.
  • Collaborate with clients to plan event logistics, including room layout, AV needs, menu selections, timeline coordination, décor, and special requests.
  • Prepare and manage all event documentation, including contracts, Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), and billing summaries, ensuring accuracy and timely communication with operational teams.
  • Maintain pricing integrity and present creative, upscale menu options that align with client needs and hotel standards.
  • Ensure consistent client communication before, during, and after events to guarantee high satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Oversee on-site execution of large or high-profile events, such as weddings and VIP gatherings, serving as the primary point of contact for clients and hotel staff.
  • Conduct site inspections, respond to event inquiries, and participate in outside sales efforts to grow catering business and brand exposure.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders, ensuring seamless coordination of event logistics.
  • Monitor booking trends and prepare accurate forecasts, performance reports, and month-end summaries to support revenue strategy.
  • Partner with the Director of Sales & Marketing to align event bookings with overall business goals and profitability targets.
  • Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as assigned to support department success.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Event Planning, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in event planning, catering sales, or conference services within a hotel, hospitality, or event venue environment.

  • Proven track record of managing a variety of events from inception to execution with a strong focus on client satisfaction and revenue growth.

  • Familiarity with hotel property management systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and written communication skills.

  • Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event needs.
