Job Summary

The Production Services Supervisor oversees the daily activities of production analysts within an assigned area, ensuring accurate and efficient management of oil, gas, and water production data. This role is responsible for maintaining and updating production and sales information within company production accounting systems. Key responsibilities include generating, filing, and reporting a wide range of internal production and sales volume reports, as well as performing detailed analysis and audits to ensure alignment between production and sales data. The supervisor also provides senior-level support to the Production Operations Department and collaborates cross functionally with marketing, revenue accounting, and operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and direction to the team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Ensures accurate and timely entry of production and sales data (oil purchase statements and gas purchase statements) input into Merrick Systems for all wells in assigned area.
  • Reconciles Production Data with Sales and Purchase Data to maintain data integrity and accuracy.
  • Oversees preparation and submission of production, injection, deliverability, and regulatory/government reports.
  • Maintains and provides a variety of reports and/or spreadsheets for assigned area, which may include Report/Production/Sales files or Partners Production Reports and data to WI owners as requested
  • Provides data support to internal departments and drive cross functional coordination.
  • Leads process improvements, special projects, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Production Services Group.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of oil and gas accounting principles and industry-specific regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP functions.
  • Proficient in other analytical tools and techniques, including SQL, Excel, Microsoft Access, or Spotfire.
  • Knowledge of Merrick Systems production operations and accounting software.
  • Strong decision-making skills with the ability to make timely, high-quality decision.
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure accountability and consistently meet commitments.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma (or GED).
  • Minimum five (5) years of related experience.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
  • An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration from an accredited college or university.
  • Previous experience with Oil & Gas Production or Revenue Accounting.
  • Proven ability to manage and analyze large datasets in support of high-volume, large-scale operated assets.
  • Experience leveraging SQL Server to extract, analyze, and manage large production datasets

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
