Position Summary

The Paralegal & Compliance Senior Specialist is responsible for supporting legal and compliance operations in Korea and other Asia Cluster markets including, but not limited to, Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia. To effectively provide paralegal and compliance support in these markets, this individual will work closely with other Law Department colleagues in Asia Cluster as well as Legal colleagues supporting BMS worldwide functions and Compliance colleagues in the BMS global Compliance & Ethics organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide paralegal and compliance support for Korea primarily and other Asia Cluster markets as needed, working closely with Legal and Compliance colleagues in Asia Cluster.
  • Support the contracting process by managing local BMS contract templates, advising on non-high-risk contracts, and training on the contracting process.
  • Provide support for compliance with data privacy requirements, advising and training on consent and other privacy requirements, coordinating and giving guidance on self-monitoring, and organizing and delivering training.
  • Promote the culture of integrity and uncompromising ethics through Compliance activities.
  • Support the Compliance Leads with compliance oversight, training, communication, monitoring and analytics and proactively identify and mitigate potential compliance risks.
  • Provide administrative support for Legal and Compliance operations.

Requirements

  • A law degree and at least three years of paralegal or compliance experience in a reputable law firm or company (preferably a multi-national company)
  • Experience in the healthcare industry (preferred)
  • Superior personal integrity and ethics, including an exceptional sense of discretion
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Strong strategic-thinking skills with an ability to identify and recommend process improvements and best practices
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects under deadline pressure with flexibility to work on broad range of matters
  • Excellent written and spoken English
