Job Description
What is the opportunity?

As an Analyst/Associate in our Real Estate Credit Transaction Management team, you will work closely with our Real Estate Corporate Banking teams in Toronto and New York to support the growth of our real estate lending portfolio, and you will manage a portfolio of real estate clients within the Global Corporate Banking division of RBC Capital Markets. You will also work closely with other groups within Capital Markets and the Bank to deliver a full range of credit and banking services to corporate clients of the Bank.
Please note: This role can be at the Analyst or Associate level, depending on the incumbent's background and skillset.
What will you do?
You will have an assigned portfolio of real estate clients and borrowers, and you will be responsible for the administration of your team's portfolio, which includes major real estate developers, REITs, and other significant real estate lending relationships. Your key responsibilities will include:
Corporate Banking (CB) Support: Provide transactional support to CB which includes but is not limited to: (i) Conduct financial analysis of corporate clients, including review of financial statements, cash flow projections, and industry trends, to prepare credit submissions for new credit, refinancings, renewals, covenant amendments/waivers, and other minor amendments, (iii) Coordinate with internal partners (Group Risk Management (GRM), Know Your Client (KYC), and Funding and Lending Services) to ensure timely closings.
Portfolio Transaction Management: Includes but is not limited to: (i) Review and approve specific drawdown requests, (ii) Develop expertise in assigned portfolio, policies and guidelines, and provide value added advice to internal partners, (iii) Ensure compliance with Bank Policies, and (iv) Participate in team deliverables with respect to regulatory/audit requests.
Data Integrity: Ensure credit agreement terms are correctly reflected in the Bank’s systems and that all credit documentation is accounted for and reviewed in a timely basis (e.g. credit agreements, amendments, waivers, security documents).
Other Responsibilities: Completion of ad-hoc projects and other duties (including presenting to key stakeholders) efficiently and effectively in order to support the team’s planned and unplanned demands.
What do you need to succeed?
Strong academic credentials including completion of a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or Engineering, mathematics, or any other problem-solving fields.
An MBA, CPA, or CFA or other post-graduate degrees with a focus in business, accounting, economics, mathematics, or real estate would be an asset but is not required.
One to five years of work experience in a related field, including banking or corporate lending experience, finance and/or risk management, real estate development or investment, or knowledge of structuring and writing of real estate credit proposals, credit processes and policies.
You are a highly motivated self-starter with keen attention to detail and strong interest in real estate finance and credit.
You have the ability to read and understand complex legal documents related to real estate transactions, including loan agreements, security documents, and property-related agreements.
You possess strong credit and analytical skills including the ability to critically assess financial statements, property valuations, market analyses, and other client reports to draw reasoned conclusions and recommend a course of action.
Your written and verbal communication skills are excellent, with strong negotiation abilities and an ability to manage conflicting demands and viewpoints and multiple stakeholder expectations.
You work effectively within a team environment and interact well at all levels within a large organization.
You are able to prioritize, perform well under pressure, and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
You have strong general PC skills (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), with proficiency in real estate-specific software or financial modeling tools being a plus.

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to candidate's experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions, and business needs.
Pay Range
The expected pay range for this position is:
$90,000.00 - $135,000.00The pay range provided is for the primary work location referenced in the Additional Job Details section of this job posting. Pay ranges may differ based on location.
