Job Summary**
The Automation Jr. Engineer III at Jabil, Inc. supports the design, development, and implementation of automated manufacturing systems, contributing to process optimization and efficiency improvements under supervision.
Job Responsibilities**
* Assist in the design, development, and testing of automation solutions for manufacturing processes, including robotic systems, PLCs, and SCADA systems.
* Support the installation, calibration, and maintenance of automation equipment and instrumentation.
* Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic activities on automated systems to identify and resolve issues.
* Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, including schematics, operating procedures, and reports.
* Participate in root cause analysis of equipment failures and process deviations.
* Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to integrate automation solutions with existing systems.
* Adhere to safety protocols and quality standards throughout all automation projects.
* Provide basic technical support and training to production personnel on automated equipment.
* Assist in the evaluation of new technologies and methodologies for potential application in manufacturing.
Job Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field.
* 1-3 years of experience in an automation or manufacturing engineering role, preferably in a high-volume production environment.
* Basic understanding of PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and HMI development.
* Familiarity with industrial robotics (e.g., Fanuc, KUKA, Universal Robots) is a plus.
* Knowledge of sensor technologies, motor controls, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
* Basic experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for design review.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
