Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr Principal Project Manager. This team oversees and manages the operational aspects of the Sentinel programmatic proposals, engineering change proposals, requests for information, & rough order of magnitudes. This position is located in Ogden, UT and supports the Sentinel program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What You’ll Get To Do:

  • Facilitate the operational progression of RFP/RFI/ROM/ECP responses to the program customer.

  • Coordinate across many stakeholders to organize progression of the proposal through the process and ensure quality of the final deliverable.

  • Act as a liaison to ensure high quality submittals and adherence to relative program toolsets and processes.

  • Support in representing items with all levels of management including Program Leadership and Customer Reviews.
    Ensure adherence to schedule and continually manage risk to address volatility in proposal requirements, deadlines, and our offering.

  • Review and present status of projects and budgets; manage schedules and prepare status reports.

  • Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.

  • Develop mechanisms for managing and monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, IPTs, and functional management.

  • Collaborate with the Capture Manager and core team on proposal execution approach and proposal roles and responsibilities.

  • Develop efficient and effective proposal execution plans in response to complex solicitations from U.S. Government and other customers.

  • Lead collaborative, engaged teams to develop, review, and submit proposals that effectively represent our strategy and baseline while eliminating non-compliances and limiting weaknesses.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8 years of relevant experience in Program Management, Project Management, Business Management, Estimating, or Industrial Engineering with a Bachelor's Degree; 6 years with a Masters. 4 years with a PhD; or 4 additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application with an investigation completed within the last 6 years.

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company to meet its business need.

  • 2 years' experience leading Proposals.

  • 4 years' experience leading high performing teams with a focus on project completion, prioritizing schedule deadlines.

  • 4 years' experience coaching/mentoring teammates.

  • 4 years as a team lead and task delegation experience.

  • 4 years' experience supporting DoD Programs.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with U.S. space systems related customers and proposals.

  • Knowledge and understanding of the U.S. Government’s competitive acquisition process including federal procurement regulations (FAR/DFAR).

  • Experience developing Basis of Estimates (BOE).

  • Experience in public speaking for large audiences.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and a keen attention to detail.

  • Team player with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to present concepts and recommendations to all levels within the organization.

Salary Range: $98,100.00 - $147,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
