The opportunity: 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced senior leader to oversee the operations and product expansion of our Crossdock, Prep, and Returns networks. This role is highly technical, so we are looking for someone that excels at solving technical problems within an ambiguous operations environment. The person should have strong data skills to help them solve problems and create new solutions. This role also involves managing the end-to-end business operations, including P&L management and driving profitability. You will work closely with tech and product teams to solve problems and build innovative features that unlock sales growth, while lowering operating costs. You will also create the roadmap to develop scalable ops tooling for our programs with a 1-2 year outlook. Your daily focus will be on enhancing productivity and quality across operations while defining and implementing your long term roadmap objectives. This is a high-visibility role where you will build out multiple different business units in a startup environment with cross-functional stakeholders that you will need influence to drive results. 

You will:

  • Lead the development and implementation of technology solutions that enhance operations across the five sites, driving innovation and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including tech and product, to define requirements and create features that address operational challenges and unlock growth.
  • Foster a culture of problem-solving and experimentation, encouraging teams to explore new ideas and technologies that optimize processes.
  • Work closely with site managers to integrate tech solutions into daily operations, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and operational needs.
  • Oversee the network-level operations, ensuring efficient and accurate processing for Crossdocks, Prep, and Returns.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction across multiple sites.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics, driving continuous improvement to achieve targets.
  • Own the P&L for the operations, developing and managing budgets to meet financial objectives while maintaining operational excellence.
  • Identify and implement cost optimization strategies to improve efficiency without compromising quality or service levels.
  • Monitor expenses and ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines.
  • Partner with technology and product teams to build innovative solutions that drive operational effectiveness and sales growth.
  • Collaborate with logistics, procurement, customer service, and quality control to ensure seamless integration of processes across the network.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to senior management on operational performance, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, fostering innovation and identifying opportunities for process optimization and automation.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in fulfillment operations, implementing relevant changes as needed.
  • Define and implement new KPIs that enhance operational productivity and quality.

You should have:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Sr Operations Manager or similar leadership role in a multi-site fulfillment or distribution environment.
  • Strong knowledge of fulfillment operations, including Crossdocks, Prep, and Returns processes.
  • Demonstrated success in managing and developing large teams with a hands-on leadership approach.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and KPI-driven performance improvement.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in P&L management and operational efficiency.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a technical mindset and willingness to roll up sleeves to address challenges.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software applications.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in a warehousing environment.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range displayed, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and / or training.
The US base salary range for this position: (exclusive of bonus, equity and benefits.)
$130,000$160,000 USD
