Position Description
Boeing India Engineering and Technology Centre is currently looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join their team in Bangalore, India. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Global Services (BGS) business organization. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be part of a global team working on providing ME solutions for a wide range of Boeing products and services across the world.
The Manufacturing Engineering (ME) function is responsible for translating design definitions into physical products. ME activities span the life cycle of a product, including but not limited to understanding design requirements, raw materials, fabrication, sequence of build, quality, and validation of the final product.
A successful candidate should be able to provide production engineering build architecture expertise that advances production technologies and supports the long-term vision of the company and the engineering and scientific communities. The candidate will advance design processes and link business planning strategy to product definition and development. They will develop and author new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies, and concepts.
The candidate will influence standards, applications, tools, and processes related to producibility assessment, dimensional management, and the use of producibility methodologies in design/build concept development. They will develop, document, and communicate producibility best practices, as well as develop and recommend solutions to complex problems. The candidate will also develop advanced design solutions and conduct independent research that results in new product or business opportunities, consulting industry-wide on lean principles and technologies.
In this role, the candidate is expected to lead a team of Manufacturing Engineers in the preparation of building plan artifacts, tooling reviews, engineering analysis, authoring work instructions, and managing the manufacturing bill of materials. The incumbent should have a good understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes, aerospace materials, and interpreting design definitions.
The position offers opportunities to work closely with US spares engineering groups, suppliers, and material groups to ensure that the spares review is conducted most effectively, thereby ensuring the best value for our customers.
