Sr. Product Manager

As a Senior Product Manager, you will be a key player in driving product innovation and excellence within platform hardware and F5 base operating system (F5OS). Working at the forefront of product development, you will lead initiatives to drive growth, enhance user experience, and deliver value to our customers. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of our product portfolio, contributing to our mission of transforming the cyber security industry.

Objectives of this role include:

  • Define the principles, guidelines, standards for release planning in F5OS software, including hierarchical backlog prioritization, feature requirements, requests for product enhancements, release governance for content, schedule and quality.
  • Drive the execution of all processes in the product lifecycle, including product and market research, competitor analysis, planning, positioning, requirements and roadmap development, and product launch.
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements for development by engineering teams.
  • Analyze market data to develop product strategies and define objectives for effective marketing communications.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, production, marketing, and sales teams in the development, QA, and release of products, and balance resources to ensure success for the entire organization.
  • As new software releases are published, develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates F5 across primary market segments.
  • Act as a change agent for adoption of new technology and solutions in support of F5’s corporate level execution priorities for the overall product portfolio.
  • Provide PM leadership with key points of consideration on architectural evolution of F5OS software in terms of short-term and long-term customer impact and alignment to strategic product objectives.

Skills and Experience:

  • This role requires an understanding of networking technology, environments and the high-level software architecture used in networking devices that are typically deployed in data centers.
  • The ideal candidate must have a proven track record of turning new ideas into launched products, building successful cross-functional teams, and fostering a culture of success.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams of product professionals, including designers, developers, analysts prioritizing key deliverables for upcoming releases, while ensuring they meet scale, performance, and standards.
  • Ability to partner with PM Leadership to define and maintain a PM strategy and process for roadmap alignment with other stakeholder product teams.
  • Strong Oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have at least ten years of experience working with networking and/or security technology.
  • Preferred candidates have at least 5 years of experience working in product management.

The annual base pay for this position is: $176,732.00 - $265,098.00

F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. The pay range referenced is as of the time of the job posting and is subject to change.
