Stop Loss Bus Strat Mgr

Location: This position will work in a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations listed on the requisition.

 

The Stop Loss Bus Strat Mgr is responsible for connecting Stop Loss strategy with business operations, drawing from disciplines such as strategy development, business analysis, process management, and operations analysis.

How will you make an impact:

  • Maintain a strong market awareness in the stop loss industry by providing operational support to national brokers, consultants, centers of excellence, and General Agents with all stop loss related topics.

  • Work directly with national broker agency principals on general relationship building, sales strategy development, marketing tactics and sales execution.

  • Monitor performance of specific brokers, agents, territories, or markets.

  • Work directly with specific downline agents on sales readiness, tactical strategies, support, and execution.

  • Coordinate external stop loss broker compensation agreements with distribution partners.

  • Serve as a key point of contact both internally and externally in responding to stop loss related questions and issues.

  • Work with key members of leadership to define and formulate business development strategies for assigned brokers by states/regions to increase the overall book of stop loss business.

  • Manage the responses to annual stop loss requests for information (RFI’s) from distribution partners.

  • Develop and implement programs to achieve the stop loss sales goals, utilizing and enhancing the internal resources to implement those strategies.

  • Lead and present the onboarding of all new stop loss distribution partners including agreement negotiations, product capabilities, claims processes, new client implementation processes, standard policies, etc.

  • Act as primary point of contact for third party technology vendors involved in the marketing of stop loss related request for proposals (RFP’s) used by our Distribution partners.

Minimum Requirements

Requires a BA/BS and a minimum of 5 years in industry sales/broker management experience in Stop Loss or the Health Care Industry; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Capabilities

  • Strongly prefer program management and strategy experience.

  • Proven medical health insurance plans, broker sales, and retention experience most notably in stop loss bundled sales is highly preferred.

  • Experience and knowledge of Employer Stop Loss System his highly preferred.

  • An active and current Life and health Insurance state license in state of residence is preferred, but not required.

  • Experience in building strong internal and external relationships with key teams/stakeholders preferred.

  • Experience interacting confidently with senior management and executive level stakeholders, as a subject matter expert and comfortable with influencing decision-making.

  • Excellent written, oral, presentation and interpersonal communication skills with the proven ability to negotiate expectations between multiple parties. 

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, MS Teams and Salesforce strongly preferred.

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $122,052 to $217,950
