Cleans and maintains floors and other surfaces.

SCHEDULE: Downtown Campus-555 N 30th St. Mon-Fri 1:30p-10p.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

Cleans floors, carpets, and upholstered surfaces; performs general cleaning duties.

  • Dusts, mops, strips, seals, finishes, and buffs floors; vacuums, edges, pre-spots, and shampoos carpets and upholstered surfaces.

  • Operates a truck-mounted unit while cleaning or restoring surfaces and upholstery; troubleshoots repair of floor care equipment as needed.

  • Cleans and sanitizes restrooms and showers, removes marks from walls, and performs general cleaning duties.

  • Identifies conditions requiring other maintenance attention including electrical problems and chipping paint and reports conditions; provides routine maintenance (e.g., replaces light bulbs).

  • Supervises and trains student workers as needed.

  • Utilizes Boys Town vehicle to transport supplies and equipment to work locations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to communicate in an articulate manner.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Knowledge of cleaning products and appropriate usage.

  • Ability to run necessary cleaning machines and tools.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record and pass an annual Motor Vehicle Registration (MVR) check required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

  • Minimum of 6 months floor care experience is preferred.
