Engineering Manager - Banking

Job Location: Bangalore

Responsibilities:

• You will bring your leadership and natural troubleshooting experience along with a strong customer focus to support client's cloud environments.
• You will use your experience in ensuring support practices and processes are applied for managing cloud migrations
• Great communication skills are needed to engage effectively with client asset teams across the entire business. You will be a key contributor in Client’s cloud delivery by providing ongoing design advise for our cloud migrations.
• We believe in automating manual tasks with the right tools - you will have a keen eye for process optimisation and will be able to identify these opportunities.
• Aside from technical skills you are a strong mentor and coach for your peers inside and outside of the team showing technical and thought leadership. You enjoy imparting knowledge and skills as well as running knowledge sharing workshops to uplift the team.
• You embrace new ideas and approaches and enjoy healthy discussions around finding positive outcomes

Your Skills and Experience

• Demonstrable experience leading an Engineering or Infrastructure team in delivery
• Being an enabler - setting the direction and being able to remove blockers
• Proven experience in managing a diverse team, with the ability and passion for mentoring and upskilling
• Previous experience with people leadership, resource management, team building and hiring
• Data and detailed focused delivery with the ability to produce accurate reporting on status, blockers, throughput and sprint cadence.
• Know how to get the best out of cloud native tools, services and concepts, to efficiently deliver workloads to cloud.
• A keen interest in setting the team up to use automation - where appropriate - to not only speed up the delivery of services but also improve the day to day repeatability and consistency in infrastructure deployments and workload configurations.
• Understanding the importance of, and experience with, infrastructure-as-code development
• Understanding of cloud change management practices with an awareness of compliance and security standards.
• Excellent engagement skills, managing and coordinating between partners, acknowledging Security, Network, Architecture and Service Management requirements.
