Please note: The successful candidate will be a licensed and domiciled psychiatrist in the state of North Carolina and hold a Child & Adolescent Board Certification. This is a hybrid role where the new hire may get asked to work in either our Cary, NC or Winston-Salem, NC office 1-2x a week.
The Deputy Chief Medical Officer – Psychiatrist - North Carolina oversees and is responsible for the delivery of medical services provided to children, youth and families served by the child welfare system as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer including but not limited to the proper provision of covered services to Members, developing clinical practice standards, clinical policies and procedures, utilization management, pharmacy, population health and Care Management, and quality management. Will support the Chief Medical Officer in ensuring an integrated approach to the physical health, Behavioral Health I/DD and TBI needs of Members. Also responsible for the administration of physical and/or behavioral health medical services, to ensure the appropriate and most cost effective medical care is received. May be responsible for developing and implementing programs to improve quality, cost, and outcomes. May provide clinical consultation and serve as clinical/strategic advisor to enhance clinical operations. May identify cost of care opportunities. May serve as a resource to staff including Medical Director Associates. May be responsible for an entire clinical program.
