About the Role:

As a software engineer, you will design, test, and build new functionalities for our core client-facing applications. You will be a key player in optimizing our Data Retrieval Platform. This is the central portal where clients access, analyze, and download current and historical datasets on the global EV charging market, hardware distribution, and pricing. You will also help build our Data Verification Service. With roughly 41% of EV chargers currently displaying errors on public maps, you will help build the system that automatically catches and fixes these inconsistencies across platforms like Google and Apple Maps, directly eliminating driver frustration and lost operator revenue. You'll work on designing and building the data architecture behind these high-impact applications, the APIs serving the frontend, and ensuring our customers can reliably consume incredibly large datasets. The main language experience that we are looking for is PHP, though experience with Go would be a huge plus as we are transitioning towards it.

You Will:

• Enhance the Data Verification Service (DVS): Drive functional improvements to the DVS by adding new data sources and improving the matching process.
• Innovate with Utilization Data: Build a new product to expose utilization data, tackling the architectural challenge of making this exceptionally large dataset easily accessible and digestible for our customers.
• Architect Client-Facing Apps: Take ownership of the data architecture and frontend-serving APIs behind our Data Retrieval Platform, DVS, and Partner Portal to ensure reliable data consumption.
• Rebuild & Optimize: Rebuild critical components of our systems to be ready for the future, and proactively identify and propose opportunities to improve the product, architecture, and systems (performance, scalability, security, etc.).
• Drive the Roadmap: Work with the product manager and provide input on priorities and (jointly) manage the technical roadmap.

You Have:

• PHP experience: 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 2 years of hands-on PHP (Laravel) development on professional projects (for businesses or open source).
• Tech-Savvy Developer: Our stack uses PHP (Laravel), Go, Gitlab-CI, Google Cloud Platform, MySQL, Postgres, Kubernetes, Docker, and more. It's nice if you're already familiar with our stack, but because you're experienced, we assume you'll quickly learn new tools if needed;
• Quality-Oriented: Have experience with testing and passionate about code maintainability and readability;
• Team Spirit: Accountable, an effective communicator and a true team player;
• Adaptive Learner: Embrace a growth mindset - open to feedback, eager to learn, and always in sync with the latest technical advancements.

Base Pay Range: €60000 - €75000
