Floater production employee handle materials and uses hand tools, knives machinery and equipment to help deliver good food responsibly to America’s dinner table. This position performs is constantly rotation and physically performs demanding work that requires good hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, strength and stamina. Team members must be able to work schedule hours, which may include mandatory overtime depending upon production demands.  

C.        PRINCIPAL DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Rotate throughout the shift to different position and cover for absenteesm. Asist Machine Operator with machine set up, involving connecting pipes, and installing seals etc. Continuous standing in one location for long periods (up to 2-3 hours before break). Walking long distances sometimes on wet, uneven, and slippery surfaces. Carrying, lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling of heavy and or awkward objects or loads Lifting, lowering, pushing, or pulling up to 50lbs. Working in cold environments of 20 to 45 F Frequent contact with animal fats Frequent static and/or awkward work postures with neck and spine flexion while grasping, pinching, pulling, lifting, extending, flexing the hands and arms. A variety of arm and hand movements are required in applying force, movement, and repetition. Using and maintaining a variety of knives, hand tools, powered tools, equipment, electrical devices, controls and possibly powered industrial trucks. Follow Safety and Food Safety policies/procedures. Being able to understand and follow oral and written instruction from lead, supervisor, and any other member of management. Additional essential functions may be applicable to specific jobs.

D.        QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge/Skills:

Must have basic math and communication skills and knowledge to accomplish required paperwork and to comprehend machine instructions, safety and warning signs, and data entry skills.

Competent and Trustworthy to comply with federal inspection programs and company safety and health policies.

Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Be available to work scheduled hours, which may include mandatory overtime, depending upon production demands.

Experience/Education:  Not required.

E.        ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Must be able to follow all the safety rules provided by the company on how to flip different kinds of switches and techniques for pushing trees. Ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry objects up to 50 pounds and push trees up to 800 pounds on a regular basis; exerting up to 60+ pounds of force.
