Summary:

Under direct supervision, this position will assist the Finance Department with month end close, accounts payable, account reconciliations, and event settlements. The Senior Accountant will also be responsible for supervising accounting staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in all financial operations of the facility.

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements.

  • Reconcile Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable control accounts to aging reports.

  • Reconcile cash receipts and disbursements.

  • Prepare applicable monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.

  • Reads event contracts and recommends a course of action with regards to financial settlements with the promoter.

  • Work directly with the Box Office to ascertain any outside ticket deals and determine financial direction to accommodate particulars of the agreement.

  • Responsible for communication with Merchandise 3rd party seller and event runners during and after an event.

  • Prepares event pre-settlement and night-of event settlements for events at the applicable venue.

  • Assist with food & beverage revenue and cost of sales journal entries.

  • Resolves communication problems concerning accounts payable vendors and finance department.

  • Prepare accounts payable checks and match with corresponding invoice.

  • Accurately input payable invoices into D365 daily.

  • Regular attendance is an essential job function.

  • Position requires the ability to work at all ASM Global venues in Wichita and Andover.

  • Work with Payroll Accountant to serve as the backup payroll processor.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises accounting clerk in the Finance Department in accordance with ASM Global policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning and directing work, rewarding and disciplining employees in conjunction with human resource policies, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business-related field from a four-year college or university required.

  • One to two years of experience in a position with accounting responsibilities preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to pass a background and credit check.

  • ADP Enterprise EV5 experience is preferred.

  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.

  • Must be knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and accrual based. accounting.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Knowledge in D365 accounting software a plus.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with many interruptions.

  • Ability to adapt within an ever-changing environment.

  • Must be able to multi-task between job functions.

  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.

  • Ability to meet specific deadlines and successfully work under pressure, with close attention to detail and in an organized manner.

Other Qualifications   

Requires ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays in addition to normal business hours as it relates to live event settlements.  Eligible to work in United States.

Physical Demands

This position requires stooping/lifting/standing/sitting for an extended amount of time/ walking/keyboarding/talking.  Must be able to write, type, use telephone, fax machine and copy machine.
