Data Governance Analyst that would support and contribute to the Axos Data Governance strategic vision and roadmap

Job Description

  • Collaborate with Data Stewards, Data Owners and Business Unit representatives to ensure Data Governance policies and standards are effectively implemented
  • Administers and maintains Data Catalog and Data Quality platforms including server configurations, workflow development, Integrations, upgrade support etc.,
  • Configures and oversees Data Catalog and Data Quality applications
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to implement Data Quality and regulatory standards across enterprise
  • Contribute to the Master Data Management implementation Axos strategic vision
  • Collaborate with IT and Business units to align data strategies and create policies / processes
  • Conduct regular reviews to confirm adherence to Data Governance policy
  • Understand the Bank's diverse business units and strategic initiatives; ensure capacity is anticipated and enterprise perspective is considered
  • Troubleshooting Data Governance related system issues or outages; determine root causes and resolve issues
  • Deep understanding or experience in industry best practices in terms of Data Management and Data Governance
  • Maintain re-usable development standards that help implement each solution and/or enhancements to existing systems to meet current and future needs.
  • Continually expand personal and enterprise knowledge of the Data management/ Data Governance suite of systems; research innovations for review and/or adoption by the Bank including vendor new releases
  • Cross train/ Mentor junior Data Governance team members
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned

Required Key Knowledge Skills/ Experience

  • Proven experience in automation with a focus on data governance processes
  • Data Governance Framework knowledge
  • Comfortable working in a Scrum/Agile Environment
  • Superior problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and the capacity to work under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Strong customer focus, excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to simplify complex concepts for technical and non-technical audience
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision and strong track record of setting and meeting delivery commitments

Desired Career Experience

  • 3+ years experience working in a Data Governance team
  • 2+ years experience Collibra in enterprise-level environment
  • Strong understanding of Data Management
  • Strong understanding of Data quality and Master Data Management best practices
  • Demonstrated project management skills with a sense of commitment and urgency
  • Data Governance certifications (nice to have)

Education requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related field
