Position Title: Pharmacy Assistant/Technician (Parklea Correctional Health)
Employment Type: Maximum Term
Hours per week: Up to 38 hours per week
Position Grade: Pharmacy Assistant/Technician Grade 1/2
Salary: $59,796 to $76,151 base salary per annum.

About The Role:


We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team leading our approach to the provision of quality care to patients of Parklea Correctional Centre. A vacancy exists in the above unit for a highly motivated Pharmacy Assistant/ Technician with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team on a casual basis.

Our progressive and innovative team offers development opportunities for our staff and a caring environment for the delivery of high-quality patient centred care. The successful applicant will be expected to be able to distribute and assist in the preparation and dispensing processes for prescribed medications, managing medication inventory and ordering supplies as well as pharmacy administrative work, including but not limited to, scanning scripts, preparing transfer medication and reconciling orders. The successful applicant must be available work rotational shifts, Monday to Sunday including public holidays.

Selection Criteria:

  • Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.
  • Qualification in a relevant field recognised by the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia or Certificate III or IV issued by a Registered Training Organisation in Hospital and Community Pharmacy or equivalent qualifications or experience, with the ability work a rotating roster.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience of dispensing/issuing of pharmaceuticals in a hospital or community pharmacy setting or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of legislative requirements relating to pharmaceuticals.
  • The ability to contribute to quality assurance activities, initiatives that support the practice and development of the pharmacy team at St Vincent's Correctional Health.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills with attention to detail and accuracy in undertaking all tasks.
