Senior Associate Job Function Description: The Senior Associate will be part of the firm’s Alternative Investments Team and will report directly to the Director of Alternatives Investments. The core responsibilities will be to help in the distribution efforts in alternative investments for Santander and to become one of the points of contact between the Alternative Investment’s team and the commercial areas. The role requires expertise in several asset classes including private equity, venture capital, real estate, credit, real assets, hedge funds, and other alternative investments. The role is expected to aid in the growth of the alternative investment’s platform .

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Educate bankers, advisors, and clients in new and existing investment products
  • Assist in developing a distribution/sale strategy to expand the penetration of alternative investments for Santander
  • Assist bankers with reports of existing portfolios of alternative investments
  • Assist advisors and bankers with queries related to client portfolios
  • Develop expertise in technology and tools used for investment analysis
  • Help with the creation of marketing and educational materials
  • Assist the due diligence team in investment manager research
  • Assist with constructing the pipeline of alternative investments products for Santander clients.


Required Experience & Skills :

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a related discipline preferred
  • 5-8 years of relevant work experience in Alternative Investments
  • Possess advanced knowledge of alternative investments and a strong desire and motivation to learn
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Comfortable presenting in group settings and lead presentations of different alternative investments strategies
  • Self-driven, reliable and able to perform under pressure with minimal supervision in a small team environment
  • Be intellectually curious, inquisitive and have a strong interest in capital markets
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, attention to detail and initiative to improve or design investment- related processes are essential
  • Flexible and adaptable to change
  • Demonstrate maturity, reliability, and pride in one’s work
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint is required
  • While taking appropriate initiative, the candidate will be able to handle multiple requests and prioritize effectively while maintaining a positive and flexible attitude.
  • Bilingual preferred, with the ability to read, write, and speak Spanish proficiently
  • Superior organizational skills, integrity, and great follow-through on tasks.

Working Conditions: Frequent Minimal physical effort such as sitting, standing and walking. Occassional moving and lifting equipment and furniture is required to support onsite and offsite meeting setup and teardown. Physically capable of lifting up to fifty pounds, able to bend, kneel, climb ladders.

What Else You Need To Know:

The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.

Base Pay Range

Minimum:

$93,750.00 USD

Maximum:

$160,000.00 USD
