Shift Overview

This position is currently available for 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift.

1st Shift: Monday – Friday 7AM to 3PM with paid lunch, voluntary overtime before or after shift.

2nd Shift: Monday – Friday 3PM to 11PM with paid lunch, voluntary overtime before or after shift.

3rd Shift: Sunday – Thursday 11PM to 7AM with paid lunch, voluntary overtime before or after shift.

Essential Functions

  • Primarily produces repetitive weldments with parts oriented on the same plane or perpendicular to it.  Will utilize fixtures designed to locate parts and control welding distortion.  Will weld fitted weldments per print.  May install additional basic parts as required.

  • Locates, tacks and welds parts to tolerances.

  • Certified to AWS D1.1 as a minimum using GMAW (Mig welding), FCAW (cored wire welding) and SMAW (stick welding).  Welds are made in the flat and horizontal position on a table or positioner.

  • Produces less critical parts or sub-weldments with welds of prescribed size, minimal undercut and spatter.  Minor repair and cleanup may be required to meet customer expectation.

  • Required to grind/clean areas adjacent to welds as preparation for welding and, if it results from the process used, to remove slag and spatter as well as general overall deburring. 

  • Every employee is expected to:

  • Complete all required paperwork including labor reporting and documentation of quality control and material movement.

  • Work safely and maintain the work area with high standards of housekeeping.

  • Perform self-inspection and other required quality control functions at the employee's workstation.

  • Perform required Preventive Maintenance activities on machinery and/or equipment operated.

  • Train and/or assist in the development of personnel.

  • Do the work in lower levels when assigned and assist in the work in higher levels.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervision.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous metal fabrication / welding experience.

  • Basic blueprint reading and mechanical skills.

  • One or more welding process capability with the ability to attain AWS D1.1 certification.

  • Lifting requirements:

  • Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

  • Lifting devices are available and recommended.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School diploma, technical training or equivalent education OR one (1) year metal fabrication / welding preferred.

  • Prior work experience in a manufacturing environment..
