Summary

The Red Hat Open Innovation Labs team is looking for an Engagement Lead to join us in Tokyo, Japan. In this role, you will use a variety of modern application development practices, along with emerging technologies from open source communities, working together with consulting engineers and customers in small teams to build, test, and iterate over innovative application prototypes attached to real business value. You’ll be the heartbeat of an Open Innovation Labs residency, coaching and nurturing novice customers. You will also be involved in the wider transformation our customers are going through, being the catalyst of these transformations. As an Engagement Lead, you'll support everything from the selling and scoping of Open Innovation Labs residencies and projects to guiding the delivery team’s implementation of these projects, ensuring customer success. Throughout the life cycle of a residency or project, you will have control and oversight from kickoff to closeout, determining scope details and monitoring the
project's progress to ensure it conforms to customer expectations and contractual agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Support presales and scope of consulting solutions
  • Support sales and business development for the Open Innovation Labs
  • Handle change management and escalations
  • Work with internal stakeholders to gain internal statement of work approval and delivery
  • Create efficient and qualitative proposals for customers by ensuring all needs are defined through analyzing the customer environment and expectations
  • Build interpersonal relationships with other Red Hat departments and serve as a trusted advisor to create detailed business cases for how an organization can achieve its business goals by embracing agility
  • Integrate creative and innovative ways to position a strategic direction
  • Engage clients to embrace Red Hat’s open approach as a means of transforming not only what they do but how they do it
  • Innovate on our current thinking and develop new approaches to change how organizations and teams deliver software and systems
  • Coach teams to embrace agile, identify and resolve impediments; track continuous improvement
  • Work with customers on initiatives to support agile transformations across business units
  • Serve as the agile project manager for Open Innovation Labs residencies, including residency planning and management, team management, process management and improvement, and team building
  • Coach product owners to create product vision and roadmap and to write effective user stories
  • Support teams in converting existing product requirement documents to Jira Product backlog, prioritizing it based on business value, and tracking value points in sprints

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; master’s degree in business is preferred
  • 5+ years of experience as a senior scrum master with a scrum coaching mentality in an agile environment with a software-selling organization
  • Understanding of Red Hat business strategy and economic model; good business insight and judgment
  • Demonstrated expertise in sales or supporting the sales of professional services, including developing statements of work, pricing, large-scale proposals, and client development
  • Experience in customer-facing positions as a professional services consultant
  • Familiarity with project management processes and experience with revenue-based project reporting
  • Extensive experience using agile project management tools and methods
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with cross-functional teams and present to management and C-level executives
  • Ability to run workshops and create strategic proposal to support transformation initiatives
  • Established and sustainable network of customer relationships
  • Proven ability to understand the technical impact of projects from supportability, scalability, and repeatability aspects, as well as the business impact on both Red Hat and customers in delivering and scoping projects
  • Willingness to travel up to 75%
