We are seeking a M365 Support Specialist who is passionate about helping customers and eager to learn. You will be responsible for working closely with customers to provide a high touch managed services partnership model and ensure a great customer experience. 

In this role, you'll support customers across Avanade’s Managed Services while developing your technical and problem-solving skills. You'll work through customer queries from start to finish, providing updates, gathering information, and ensuring a smooth experience.
 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Support a federal government organisation’s users and business areas in the use of M365. 
  • Conduct support calls, email and chats to troubleshoot and identify and rectify ICT issues or requests. 
  • Work with a task queue or backlog in a ticketing system. 
  • Contribute to continuously developing knowledge and modern SaaS systems. 
  • Interact with and administer parts of the M365 environment including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Intune, OneDrive for Business, and Entra ID. 
  • Some experience and knowledge of Active Directory, SCCM, MECM or W365 infrastructure. 
  • Some experience with Applications Packaging and Deployment, native and virtual. 
  • Some PowerShell scripting or automation may be required. 
  • Work with a hybrid multi-location team. 
  • Provide professional verbal and written communication to clients, users and stakeholders. 
  • Manage incidents and requests from individual users and business areas. 
  • Some on-call rostering may be required, including over holiday periods.

Skills and Experience 

You are an experienced technologist and are comfortable working with a technical team with a track record of solution delivery. You have good communication and interpersonal skills that will enable you to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders and contribute effectively to our Managed Services organisation. 
 

You will also possess analytical and problem-solving skills enabling you to be creative and innovative in the support of our clients. You will also seek to continually improve our clients’ environments though evergreen practices and platform evolution. 
 

You will be an Australian Citizen (Existing security clearance will be highly regarded and will be required for the role). 
 

Ability to work onsite at least 3 days per week (up to 5 preferred) in Melbourne. 
 

In addition, your professional skillset likely includes:  

  • Proven ability to work within a structured IT governance framework and deliver results that adhere to relevant Commonwealth standards and policies. 
  • Stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, both written and verbal with ability to negotiate outcomes as required 
  • Provide technical expertise to projects and business areas. 
  • Maintains a high level of professionalism, has sound judgement and decision-making skills. 
  • Ability to work autonomously and is highly motivated. 

 

Preferred Education Background: 

You will likely possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in in computer science, computer engineering, management information systems or a related field. 

 

Microsoft Certification – Microsoft 365 Certified in one or more areas  

 

Preferred Years of Work Experience: 

  • At least 1-3 years relevant technology experience including desktop/endpoint support particularly within a consultancy or systems integrator with experience working in large government agencies is a benefit.
