GENERAL SUMMARY
Leads and manages large and key initiatives projects for the Investments department. This includes managing intake of new projects, working with leadership to identify the project team, developing charters and project plans, and managing project scope, issues, risks, changes, communication, and quality. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver Investment priorities. Ensures projects are applying best practices to achieve the highest degree of project success. Aids in accomplishing strategic goals and objectives for Investments. Carries out all agreed-upon department goals and objectives, and any other tasks deemed necessary to ensure the success of the department goals and objectives. Collaborates with other project managers (PMs) on project/program interdependencies, managing risks, executive level reporting, and executing on strategic goals and objectives.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as the single point of contact for key business improvement or project initiatives, creates project plans, and provides regular status dashboards and updates on the progress of projects. Manages large and/or complex projects through the project lifecycle, including developing charters, plans, schedules; monitoring performance against schedule and quality metrics; managing change, issues, and risks; and providing regular communication to the leadership in the Investments department.
Cultivates cross-functional relationships and maintains effective communication at all levels to support Investment department needs, identify key tasks, and manage deadlines. Demonstrates awareness of regional/cultural factors as required. Provides guidance in the application toolset(s) to capture requirements, test and troubleshoot applications for new development, and on-going support. Reviews, documents, and analyzes requirements and charters. Provides feedback and incorporates cross-functional requirements into business requirements documentation.
Directs the project management activities of all technical and business resources on the project.
Fosters a positive and engaged work environment and mentors and coaches peers when applicable.
Identifies and recommends areas of process improvement within technical projects or business processes, that result in efficiencies and effectiveness gains.
Ensures business partners’ expectations are met, gain understanding when desired outcomes are not feasible and provide alternative solutions to meet objective(s).
Establishes and maintains best practices and consistent project management policies and guidelines in line with IT project management methodologies.
Proposes and leads development of training as needed. Documents standard operating procedures for future onboarding of associates.
Leads project team members to determine project acceptance criteria based on those determined by senior leadership as well as those that have been identified in plans as supporting business development objectives.
Provides post-implementation follow-up, facilitates retrospectives or lessons learned activities. Implements process improvements that aid in increasing efficiency, reducing rework, enhancing quality, etc.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related work experience
10+ years in a project management and/or business analyst position
Hands-on experience in managing complex, technical projects
Process improvement experience
Preferred:
PMP, CSM or other relevant professional designation
5+ years in insurance/reinsurance
Six Sigma or other process improvement trainingOCM (Organizational Change Management) Prosci certification

Compensation Range:
$107,060.00 - $159,390.00 AnnualBase pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
