Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Director of Programs for our Future PNT Systems Operating Unit based in Woodland Hills, CA. The OU Director is responsible for full oversight and execution of a portfolio of programs as well as managing internal investments and technology strategy.
The operating unit pursues disruptive technologies in the area of navigation sensors, timing, estimation, distributed sensing, Navigation Warfare, as well as quantum sensing. The operating unit focuses primarily on early phase technology maturation and applied research and development and seeks to transition those technologies to production divisions within the company.
A successful candidate in this role will:
- Provide profit and loss responsibility for the business
- Lead a diverse team of functional and direct reports in developing and executing the vision and strategy to achieve financial objectives
- Develop and maintain trusted relationships with key customers
- Provide leadership to a geographically diverse team
- Provide leadership to resolve complex technical challenges
- Develop strategies to add and retain current and future key talent
- Excel at organization and operating in ambiguity to drive clarity to inform and unite the team
- Recognize the importance of culture both at an individual and organizational level with demonstrated commitment to employee and organizational development
- Partner effectively across organizational lines to achieve goals and objectives on complex DoD programs
Basic qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in engineering or related discipline
- 10 or more years of related experience with tenure in a program management organization
- Ability to operate and lead in a team environment
- Ability to resolve disputes and negotiate with positive outcome while maintaining good customer relationships
- Strong formal and informal communication skills with levels of internal and external management
- Ability to make good decisions and exercise appropriate judgement that balances customer and Northrop Grumman needs
- Ability to plan, follow-up, and deliver to commitments
- Active DoD Secret clearance or above; OR DoE equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret clearance
- MBA
- 15 years of related experience with tenure in a program management organization
- Proven program management track record over multiple S&T and tech maturation programs with proven ability to deliver technologies on-time and on-budget
Salary Range: $209,600.00 - $314,400.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
