Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Production Leadership:
Serve as the acting prime production lead, ensuring seamless coordination and execution of production activities.
Own and lead the Manufacturing Working Group, driving continuous improvement and addressing production challenges.
Lead Manufacturing Technical Interchange Meetings to align stakeholders and resolve technical issues.
Readiness Reviews:
Conduct Manufacturing Readiness Reviews (MRR) and Production Readiness Reviews (PRR), ensuring all production processes are ready for execution.
Assess and mitigate risks related to production readiness and compliance with contractual obligations.
Standards and Compliance:
Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with relevant standards, including IEEE 15288.2-2014.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and integrate best practices into production processes.
Process Development and Improvement:
Develop, define, and improve production processes to enhance efficiency and product quality.
Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
Incorporate the understanding and implementation of Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) to identify and mitigate potential risks in the manufacturing process.
Define special process criteria and develop engineering documentation to control and standardize the process as part of site standard work.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless integration of production processes.
Collaborate with program managers and other stakeholders to meet program milestones and deliverables.
Technical Leadership:
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and production staff.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues.
Qualifications:
Education:
Master of Science in Engineering or related field (Preferred).
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years in the DoD industry, with at least 8 years in manufacturing engineering.
Proven track record in managing LRIP, PRR, and FRP phases of production.
Serve as the primary technical contact for customer interactions, providing expert support and addressing technical inquiries.
Experience with diverse product lines and complex manufacturing processes.
Skills:
Strong understanding of IEEE 15288.2-2014 and other relevant industry standards.
Excellent leadership and project management skills.
Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Other Requirements:
Ability to commit to specific actions within the production scope of contracts.
Strong focus on on-time delivery of compliant hardware.
