Overall Purpose of the Role

The purpose of this role is to support the Studios and Disney+ teams with Social Media Insights that aid and support digital marketing decisions, creative development and strategy. 

The role will work closely with the Social Insights team across EMEA to conduct analysis and provide actionable insights using social data related to Studios Theatrical and Disney+ titles, as well as monitoring high priority local market requests. 

The analyst will use a variety of third party and internal tools to derive these insights; data sources include social listening, owned social media performance, video performance, and other related sources. 

 

Areas of Responsibility 

Responsibility for using a variety of social listening and social performance tools in order to better understand the performance and buzz of Disney’s Studios Theatrical and Disney+ original features and episodic content. 

Configure and help set up regional queries in the social listening tools using Boolean search. 

Responsible for project leading the fortnightly regional social trends report, working with EMEA market analysts to collate the latest trends data for each local market & contribute to regional learnings. 

Help maintain and update dashboards for sharing social data, including ongoing validation of the data for UK and other EMEA markets, where needed. 

Work in a dynamic and flexible manner, with insights outputs varying across films, titles, and queries.  

Work locally while also feeding into a central team which coordinates and synthesizes the work across multiple markets.  

Proactively stay on the pulse of social activity and conversations, looking for relevance (direct or indirect) to Disney’s films and priority D+ properties – and opportunities to share with local & regional stakeholders. 

Assist with ongoing technology testing & developments, proactively surfacing industry updates and new potential tools/solutions.  

 

Experience and Professional Qualifications Required 

  • Ability to analyse and interrogate data from across different digital data sets and tools.  

  • Understanding and knowledge of relevant social platforms.  

  • Ability to communicate complex data and technical tools in a simple, easily understood manner. 

  • Ability to turn data into insights – and to share these insights in a multitude of ways (e.g. Excel, dashboards, PowerPoint, presentations).  

  • Outstanding attention to detail, proof reading and checking large data sets. 

  • 3-4 years’ experience 

  • A passion for and personal interest in social media. 

  • Passion and knowledge of the entertainment industry, specifically film and television.  

 

Skills Required 

  • Excellent numerical & analytical skills – the ability and curiosity to ask ‘why’ and dig into the data to answer the questions. 

  • Good organisational, written and presentation skills. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Experience with social listening tools (e.g. Brandwatch, Talkwalker). 

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint). 

  • Experience with social insight tools (e.g. Emplifi, Sprinklr, Tubular Labs) a benefit but not essential.  

  • Fluent and highly proficient in English (reading, writing, presenting). Other European languages a plus, but not essential.
