Location: Stephenson Cancer Center

Shift Available: Full-Time, (40 hours/week) 8-hr shifts

General Description:

Oversees the performance of the Quality Management Program, and its compliance with regulatory agency requirements, as well as other quality staff within the Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads, develops, coaches, and effectively manages the team to ensure deliverables and performance metrics are met.  Develops team to accomplish results through training, development, performance management and recognition.
  • Independently performs administrative responsibilities for the program to include:
  • Reviewing and revising the current Quality Management Program to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and comparing against outcomes for effectiveness.
  • Collaborating with staff and providers on projects and efforts to maintain the quality program by leading performance improvement initiatives.
  • Preparing and submitting annual requests for information (RFIs) from all required payers and contracted entities that require such information.
  • Scheduling, preparing and/or chairing meetings pertaining to TCT Program.
  • Completing payroll, staff rounding and performance reviews for any direct reports.
  • Coordinates program quality and data management functions in an efficient and cohesive manner as related to daily activities, process improvements, and other collaborative efforts.
  • Works collaboratively with physicians, finance and administration on projects including, but not limited to, research, reimbursement account reconciliation, and transplant volumes tracking and projections.
  • Works with education department and individuals to coordinate completion of required initial training, annual competencies and continual education as related to BMT and CAR-T therapies for the program.
  • Applicable to program physicians, advanced practice professionals, pharmacists, data management, and quality personnel.
  • Performs and monitors internal and external audits, including recognition of trends and implementation of process improvements. These include, but are not limited to, length of stay, readmissions, patient engraftment, survivorship, and research forms data submitted to the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Registry (CIBMTR).
  • Research and creation of benchmarks for use within the TCT program, utilizing historical year over year comparisons, run charts, and national reports.
  • Maintaining appropriate facility and program accreditations, including coordination of inspections:
  • Primarily responsible – Foundation for Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) accreditation.
  • Assists with – Commission on Cancer (CoC) accreditation.
  • Leads the preparation, maintenance, approval and publication of all policies and procedures as specifically related to TCT Program, including the Cellular Therapies Laboratory.
  • Supervision of completion the TCT Program Annual Report and dissemination to appropriate personnel and leadership.
  • Assist physicians and pharmacist with the research and evidence base practice guidelines for the preparation of protocols and pathways for use with standing orders for the TCT Program.
  • Monitors deviations from protocol/pathway use and transplant acceptance criteria, along with any resulting outcomes.
  • Research data compilation for various studies and research papers with and for the program’s physician group.
  • Acts as the assigned Authorized Representative (AR) for all commercial cellular therapy companies, and performing all relevant duties for this role.
  • Assigning and monitoring education (REMS) compliance.
  • Monitoring compliance with policies/procedures.
  • Performing staff, patient and caregiver education as necessary.
  • Completing all relevant reports for REMS program.
  • Overseeing the completion of all relevant Audits and Inspections.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor's of Science in Nursing required. Master’s level education preferred.

Experience: 3 to 5 years of progressive leadership experience required, with experience in a clinical care or related healthcare position.  BMT/Cellular Therapy and quality experience preferred. 

Licensure/Certifications/Registrations Required: Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC). BLS upon hire.

  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple high priority deliverables ​
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills​
  • Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office tools​
  • Knowledge of clinical health care, evidence based practice, healthcare research, and professional nursing theory, practices, techniques and procedures.
  • Skill in planning and administering performance improvement activities and using performance improvement methodologies. 
  • Strong skills in data measurement, analysis, and presentation, with the ability to prepare and analyze reports.
