Job Description Summary

The Global Machining and Tooling Engineering Leader will be responsible for the leadership of a global team of machining and tooling engineers and specialists to execute projects supporting GEV Gas Power organizations. This leader will be responsible for developing sound strategic plans to improve safety, quality, cycle, and cost supporting tooling and machining platforms to meet our obligations in customer fulfilment, repairs, and NPI execution. This person will lead project management of the Tooling and Machining projects, supporting GEV Gas Power NPI, Lean, quality, and productivity initiatives. In this role you will coordinate with the various Infrastructure teams to drive standardized tools, fixtures, and machine programs across the global supply chain network.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead engineers and specialists in the execution of design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
  • Recommend approaches to meet the technical and program requirements
  • Formulate strategy and implement plans to achieve business goals and directives.
  • Lead machining and tooling technology development and global support for the total supply chain network for new make manufacturing and repair shops.
  • Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems
  • Lead the global industrialization of machining technologies supporting multiple new make and services sites throughout the globe including NAM, Europe, ME, and Asia.
  • Provide technical leadership to other personnel; mentor others in the organization
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Monitor and communicate project status, business issues, and significant developments
  • Lead or participate in organizational efforts in the team’s assigned projects and/or tasks
  • Participate as a reviewer and/or approver in technical and program reviews
  • Provide strong technical guidance and contribution to DMP, CS and design to cost projects.
  • Communicate team goals, strategy, and progress to all levels of the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 10 years combined experience in manufacturing, service center, or engineering roles.
  • Willingness and ability to travel both domestic and international ~10%

Desired Characteristics

  • Masters Degree in Engineering or Business
  • Strong machining technology with practical application background is preferred
  • Additional experience in manufacture or component repair for industrial gas turbines preferred
  • Strong familiarity with Lean methodologies and Kaizen projects
  • Familiarity with services and new make manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, The base pay range for this position is $131,700.00 - $219,300.00 USD per year.

The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a15% variable incentive performance bonus.

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $131,700.00 and $219,300.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
