Position: Technical Service Specialist - Málaga 

Primary Objective of Position

  • The Technical Service Specialist is responsible for performing planned maintenance activities, hardware and software upgrades (TSBs), installations and deinstallations and also first line support to assigned instruments.

Major Accountabilities

  • Provide field service support and technical troubleshooting for assigned instruments.

  • Schedule and perform planned maintenance (PM) activities.

  • Provide proactive service using Abbott remote diagnostics tools.

  • Provide ongoing training and coaching to customers.

  • Perform instrument upgrades and technical service bulletins (TSBs).

  • Success in this role is measured by customer satisfaction score (NPS).

  • Act as a trusted partner and technical advisor to customers.

  • Provides first level assays troubleshooting and implement new assays.

  • Provide first level support for laboratory middleware (AMS).

  • Maintain the laboratory workflow optimized making track software (TSM & TWM) adjustments if needed.

  • Work with customers to ensure the entire Abbott solution is being utilized as expected, maximizing instruments performance and testing capabilities.

Education

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required. Bachelors / Engineering degree in medical / electrical / mechanical or medical technology is preferred.

Background

  • Proven track record in a similar position supported by management and customer references

  • Successful engagement with customers, specifically lab staff.

  • Technical expert for product line responsibility

  •  Strong communication skills

  • Ability to identify and drive resolution of issues

  •  Strong experience in use of analytical tools and software

Impact of position

  • Perform planned maintenance activities, hardware and software upgrades (TSBs) and for back up first line level one service and assisting with installations and deinstallations.
