About you and this role
Dow has an exciting and challenging opportunity for Occupational Health Specialist role locating in Min-Hsiung site, Taiwan.
This role provides clinical care services, case management, health assessment program management/services, and general preventive health services. Serves as part of a larger site Health Services team or serves as the onsite Health Services, supporting Dow employees, specified contractor employees, visitors, and service customers at a particular site.
Responsibilities
- Health Assessment: Supervise all required health assessments and occupational medical surveillance program to the standard of Dow and local government requirements. Coordinate with site EH&S, IH and HR to ensure people are assigned the correct exam for associated risk integrated with the Health Assessment Exam process for both on-boarding and periodic medical surveillance.
- Workplace Health Inspection: Conduct regular workplace visits or assessments and report trends to Site and/or EH&S Leadership
- Wellbeing/Health Engagement: Work with regional OH wellbeing leader and site EH&S delivery leader and HR to conduct health engagement need assessment and ensure good implement of health promotion programs for both Min-Hsiung and Taipei.
- Immediate Medical Care: Provide immediate medical support to Dow employees following Dow Health services clinical guideline. Work with site to set up a process to allow employee who sustain a work-related injury or illness to be evaluated and treated by a health professional. Report all potentially work-related injuries and illnesses to site EH&S leader, RCL and HS leader.
- First Aid/ Medical Emergency Response: Work with site EH&S to set up site Medical Emergency response plan. Provide professional support to the Site and/or EH&S leadership to ensure there is an appropriate provision of first aid expertise and materials to meet on-site hazards and statutory requirements
- Case management: Provide or facilitate medical support to ill or injured employees and Conduct return to work evaluation
- Health Counseling: Provide health education and counseling. Provide travel health counseling to employees traveling on business.
- EAP: Work with site EAP focal point to make sure EAP services is provided to meet employee and company need.
- Ergonomics: Provide professional support to EH&S team on ergo program. Conduct Ergo risk assessment for any reported ergo injury case.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of working experience in nursing, medical science or related sectors.
- Hold active Nurse license in Taiwan.
- Fluent in English both oral and written.
- Working experience in occupational health or corporate health management is preferred.
- Good communication skill, able to make clear and prompt communication to all relevant parties.
