Rehabilitation Specialist - Therapist - Psychiatry/Behavioral Health

We are seeking a Rehabilitation Specialist to provide assessments and therapeutic group therapy programming to meet individual needs and treatment goals of medically compromised and psychiatric/behavioral health in-patients & out-patient services. Work with a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to enhancing inpatient activity and programs. Collaborate with other departments and community groups to enhance programs on the unit and services.  

This is a full-time day shift Monday through Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm with rotating weekend coverage at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. 

 

Preferred Criteria  

  • 1-3 years' experience working in an acute inpatient hospital setting  

  • Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) 

  • Proficient in modalities pertaining to specific Creative Arts Therapy Discipline

  • License in Mental Health Counseling, Creative Arts Therapy or Occupational Therapy from New York State Department of Education

  • Certification in Therapeutic Recreation by National Council for Therapeutic Recreation or Certification as Occupational Therapy Assistant by New York State Department of Education

  

Required Criteria 

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Knowledge of dual diagnosis, principles and practices of 12 step programs, and the application of psychosocial rehabilitation for that population

  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association
