Role:
The Impact Strategist position for an affiliate provides supplemental support in the creation and implementation of market specific fundraising strategies. Working in collaboration with the Affiliate's Director of Philanthropy, Foundation team members, and other Company system partners, the Development Gift Specialist assumes a market fundraising support role that achieves market fundraising goals by establishing an individual donor portfolio augmenting efforts of affiliate and Foundation team members. Individual efforts of the Development Gift Specialist supports realization of both the Affiliate’s and Foundation’s financial objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree although relevant work experience and demonstrated execution of related skills may serve as supplement for education; Master’s and/or CFRE preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ fundraising, sales/relationship management or philanthropic experience strongly preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ leadership and management experience preferred
  • Skilled in operations, financial management, and relational management
  • Demonstrated success in a fundraising and/or sales environment, gifts solicitation, external relations, and goal attainment; results-focused with strong performance culture
  • Healthcare experience a plus
  • Knowledge of state and local health care issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including public speaking/presentation ability
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements a comprehensive fund donor portfolio including, but not limited to: major gift solicitations, corporate giving, planned and deferred giving, memberships, memorials, gift-in-kind, capital campaigns, special events, and grants in order to meet the financial needs of the Organization.
  • Cooperates with team partners such as Professional Relations Representatives, clinicians, caregivers, Social Workers, and volunteers to advance the Foundation’s name and that of the Organization throughout the assigned market territory.
  • Represents the Organization at various civic and business organizations, identifying prospective donors, volunteers, and Board members.
  • Acts as a first level resource to staff and management in all fundraising matters.
  • Works with volunteers effectively to buildout and execute the market specific fundraising strategy. 
  • Collaborates with Affiliate’s Director of Philanthropy and Foundation Marketing to execute the Foundation’s brand goals, fundraising communications, online giving campaigns, and other strategic initiatives designed to advance the Foundation’s mission and fundraising development efforts.  
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key Foundation team members to acquire and refine philanthropy/development skills and competencies.
  • Working with appropriate Foundation team members, ensures verbal and written reports as well as Foundation presentations are conveyed in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Assists with organizational events; may provide leadership; may attend events.
  • Identifies grant proposal opportunities; participates in proposal development, as assigned.
